Are you tired of the battle being waged in your heart and mind? Are you getting discouraged? Do you try and try but keep failing? Do you have secrets weighing you down?
Jeremiah 29:11 says: “For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
God has good things planned for you. sometimes all we need is someone to help us get to the place where we can hear from the Lord where it makes a transformational difference in our lives. Jesus is called the Truth. The scriptures tell us that the Truth will set us free. We do not need to keep walking the circular path from sin to trying not to sin and then falling again, over and over.
The Holy Spirit was sent to us to lead us into all truth. He is our guide to freedom and transformation. It is He who speaks into our hearts when we need truth. Sometimes He leads us through scripture and sometimes he just whispers into our hearts. You will know it is God speaking to you when it brings peace and freedom. He never speaks anything that goes against His word, the scriptures. It is not any new revelation. It is simply God replacing our faulty belief system with His truth.
We live with a double standard. We believe in our heads what the scriptures say to us. But, in our hearts we learned things over time that are contrary to God’s truth. We tend to default to our faulty experiential beliefs when the trigger events, words or actions occur. Then we react and end up in a messy place in our lives. It is a trap set by the devil to keep us in bondage. But Christ came as our deliverer. All we need now is to receive God’s truth in our hearts replacing the faulty thinking. It has to come from God on a personal intimate level. We cannot convince ourselves of the truth even when we know it in our heads. Sheer will power will not work. Stuffing it down only makes it fester and become an imbedded stronghold in your life. It will come out again and again.
Too often, we try to do these things on their own rather than getting help. sometimes it is pride that keeps us from seeking help. Sometimes it is fear, especially fear of exposure and consequences. Find someone safe to share your struggle with, someone who knows how to get to the root of the issue and help you to hear from God.
Paul struggled with issues too. He does not say what they are, just that he struggled. He said, “I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.” Romans 7:15 We all have this struggle on various levels.
We live in a multi-dimensional universe. There is a very real but unseen dimension in which our real battles are fought. That is the spiritual realm. In the spiritual there are good spirits, called angels and evil spirits called demons and cosmic beings. It is the cosmic beings who have been given assignments in our lives to make sure that strongholds do not weaken. They do not want us to be set free. They are the ones who keep reinforcing the lies that we believe. that is why we cannot change our belief system ourselves. We need a stronger power, God, to free us.
Jesus of Nazareth is our redeemer. His sacrifice has the power to save us. His truth has the power to set us free. With His spoken word, He created the universe. That power is far greater than all other power put together. He is the Way. He is the Door. He is the Truth. Throughout scripture He lets us know over and over that His plan is for freedom, that He is the answer, that all who come to Him will be healed and set free. Let’s choose to believe Him. Let’s choose to take Him at His word.
“Come to me all ye who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest.” Matt 11:28
If you need help getting to the root of your issue, find someone safe who can guide you and pray with you; not to give you answers, just to walk with you to the foot of the cross to hear from God.
Blessings to you all in the name of Christ our Lord!
